Papal Youth Rally
In conjunction with Pope Benedict XVI’s recent U.S. visit, Dove Award-winning Word recording artist Salvador performed at the Papal Youth Rally at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, New York, which was attended by an estimated 25,000 people. Pictured onstage at the rally are the members of Salvador. Known for their show-stopping, improvisational live performances, the acclaimed Latin/pop band is currently appearing across the country, and the group is slated for a European tour later this spring.
Salvador’s eighth recording, Aware, which hit stores yesterday, was produced by group members Nic Gonzales and Chris Bevins, along with Otto Price (dcTalk, GRITS). Aware features 11 selections exploring themes of thankfulness and selflessness.

Papal Youth Rally
Only God knows why you guys decided to play this concert...I'm in my late 30's and I've been listening to Christian music since I was a kid and I'm still amazed and how easy it is for Christian musicians to make irresponisble decisions. I won't stop listening to your music because it's been a blessing to me and my family but I will pray that you guys will make better decisions in the future...just because you CAN do something doesn't always mean you should. God bless!
please stop judging
I am not a fan of Salvador anymore simply because it's just not my type of music anymore. I liked their first and second album but that's pretty much it. Even though I am not a fan of their music I highly respect their musicianship and lyrics.
It is the sick who need a doctor, not the healthy! That is why I believe that playing at the Papal Rally was good. In order to reach out to the unsaved. I'm pretty sure that's the reason they did it.
"I am so sorry but the last album--- I did not feel GOD. I guess Nic wrote the songs without really meditating and praying to God. The Spirit was not there. It was just like other non- Christian albums. It did talk about love and such but God was not the theme. I guess Salvador is trying to gain mainstream fans."
You have no authority to say if Nic was meditating and praying to God or even worse to say that the Spirit was not there. You are judging to the extreme. Just because you didn't feel God doesn't mean He wasn't there. I've heard of people being touched by this album so maybe someone needs to check their spiritual state.
"I guess Salvador is trying to gain mainstream fans". Thank God! I wonder if all Christians thought like you, there would be no Christians left.
Please stop judging. You weren't there, you don't know their hearts.
Saludos

What!!!???
I cannot believe that Salvador would play for the Pope. I guess that is why a lot of their fans left them. Including myself. I have all of their albums. I have seen them so many times. I have prayed and meditated with their songs. I am so sorry but the last album--- I did not feel GOD. I guess Nic wrote the songs without really meditating and praying to God. The Spirit was not there. It was just like other non- Christian albums. It did talk about love and such but God was not the theme. I guess Salvador is trying to gain mainstream fans. Also, read Mark 10: 10-12.
CONGRATS FOR PLAYING FOR THE YOUTH AT PAPAL RALLY
Salvador DID NOT commit adultery against the body of Christ or fans by playing for the Pope (re your quote on Mark 10:10-12). Neither is the pope committing adultery against the body of Christ. The pope is, after all, of the line of Peter -- upon whom Jesus said he would build the church.
I'm glad to see Salvador as a possible force for the reuniting of the body of Christ -- as the last few popes have been (despite what some protestants may say). Jesus calls us to unite - not divide. This is just one small step of many. After all, with all the forces against Christians, we need to unite for the salvation of the world.
Yes, Catholics need to hear anointed music of all genres - not just the pipe-organ crowd the bishops seem to love. As a Catholic musician, I'm grateful to bring some of the contemporary music into the Mass, allowing it to work with the body and blood of Jesus to bring souls to Christ.
As for their last album, maybe it was a little difficult to pray to. If that doesn't work, pray with the other ones. Maybe Salvador is reaching for more mainstream fans. But then again, those in the mainstream need to hear the message even more -- after all, Jesus says it's not the well who need to hear the message but the sick (Mark 2:17).
That's why it annoys me a bit when the faithful complain about Christian acts going "crossover." Maybe the bands might be going for more money to fuel the ministry, but the ultimate goal - as it should be for all of us - is to win souls for Christ. Many secular fans won't set foot in a church, but if they hear Chris Rice or Salvador or Michael W. Smith or MercyMe, they might hear the message of Christ and be touched. Pray for them, not castigate them!
Music is just one net cast into the deep to bring in the catch. Use all gifts for the glory of God.

I'm glad Salvador sang at the rally. Even Catholics need to hear good Christian music.
I thought by now, people would stop criticizing Salvador, but I quess I was wrong. I think they've had enough of it in the past. You can only hear so much, and then you get tired of hearing it. Please, if you can't show support than why post something?
It's nice to see they are going to Germany. That's my heritage. German/Swiss.
My Opinion.....
as far as im concerned, I think the album was all about God!....I guess people just dont know how to listen anymore....:(
